Marikay’s Homemade Organic Applesauce

  • 6 Apples – peel and cut into cubes
  • Butternut Squash – enough for 1 cup – peel and cut into cubes
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Place apples and butternut squash into a medium saucepan.  Add 1 cup of water.  Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer.  Simmer for 35-40 min or until apples and squash are cooked.  Remove from heat and let cool slightly.  Place into a blender and blend to desired texture. 

I usually make it smooth but sometimes make it chunky for a different texture taste.
